Coatings and thin film expertise.

Objects come in all shapes and sizes and so do the coatings.  Our world-class formulation and synthesis expertise is applied to develop next-generation coating materials and processes for small and large area applications. 

Our diverse coating capabilities include spin, slot-die, bar (Meyer rod), gap, blade, dip, and cup, as well as thermal evaporation, sputter (plasma), spray, and powder coating options.  We specialize in roll-to-roll coating, primarily utilizing slot-die coating, which can be adapted for other techniques like spray coating.  Our team is highly skilled in formulation, process development, and optimization, enabling us to characterize coatings and thin films.

When most people think of polymers, they think of everyday plastics – we think differently.   At Myant X we think about tailored performance based on end-use applications.  From oligomers to highly-cross-linked gels – and everything in between – our  expertise brings polymers to life.

We create and modify polymers to enable new functionality.  With vast expertise in polymer synthesis and formulation, we design synthetic routes through reaction engineering, then develop and scale the processes from bench-scale all to pilot-scale in 19,000 L reactors.

High value composites at the cutting-edge of material science.

Functional materials combine constituents to deliver more than the sum of their parts.  From conductivity to lightweighting and increased mechanical or environmental properties, we use our extensive material science background to not only combine materials, but tailor and formulate compatibilizers and adjuncts that squeeze every last bit of performance out of an additive. 

It’s one thing to make something, it’s another for it to work as intended.  Formulating high value composites requires a strong understanding of what’s going on in a material system. At Myant X we leverage extensive in house analytical and physical characterization techniques to drive material development and shape the outcome of iterative design cycles.
